The Majesty of an Awesome God

Majesty is defined as magnificence, splendor, glory, anointing, brilliance, radiance, beauty, wonder and grandeur. Those are only a few descriptions of what God is like. No earthly word could possibly even start to describe the majesty of our God.

He sits on a great white throne, and nothing can exist when coming face to face with Him. The earth and the heaven will even flee away in His awesome presence! (Rev. 20: 11) No one can see God face to face and live. God chose to reveal Himself to Moses because he had found grace in His sight and He knew him by name. Even then God hid Moses in the cleft of a rock while covering him with His hand as His glory passed by, allowing him only to see His back! (Ex. 33: 17-23)

What a glorious picture of Moses and what great honor to be singled out by the Almighty, whom he served! God's glory is His Power. Can you even begin to imagine the awesome force that would dispel heaven and earth? And that's what will literally happen when the heavenly Jerusalem descends to earth!

The City of God is of pure gold, surrounded by a wall of jasper. The ten foundations of the wall are adorned respectively with numerous precious stones, the twelve gates are one pearl each, and the street is paved of pure gold, like transparent glass. There's no temple: "for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it." There's no sun or moon as there's no need for either of them: as the glory of God illuminates the whole city and the Lamb is its light. (Rev. 21: 16-23)

Jesus is our Rock, and you and I are hid safely in the Blood of His wounds. It's strictly by His grace that you are saved and can now come boldly into the throne room of the Almighty. (Heb. 10: 19) The King who sits on the throne knows your name! He knows you by the Name of Jesus!

Sometimes in this hurried, selfish, flesh-centered lifestyle, salvation can be taken for granted. It is good to reflect often on the enormity of the majesty of God. Do not allow pride and complacency to slip into your prayers, and be ever mindful that God always deserves and covets your praise and worship.

Circumstances do not determine whether or not to praise Him. He alone is worthy at all times for who He is and for what He has done! You serve an Awesome God! It is strictly by His Grace that you are not obliterated in His presence!

You know that by faith you can ask anything of the Father in Jesus' Name because it is written in the Word. However, when you ask, be ever so mindful of what it means to be hid in Jesus, standing before an omnipotent God! Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Because Jesus humbled Himself on earth, God highly exalted Him and gave Him a Name which is above every name: "that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, or things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Phil. 2: 5-11)

"And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one. (Zech. 14: 9) He is "the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. (Rev. 22: 13)
