The Word of God is powerful. It needs no explanation, defense, or superior mental power. Give a Bible to those who want to know God and are hungering for the Truth and their hearts shall be set on fire spiritually.
There were a couple of guys walking to a village. They were expressing their sadness about events not having worked out to their way of understanding and satisfaction. They had expected a miracle. Instead, they felt despair because Jesus, whom they believed to be the Messiah who would deliver their country from oppression, had been crucified.
A third man joined them on their journey and they shared their frustration and grief with him. He explained to them all the Prophesies referring to the Messiah and why He had to die. While at supper their spiritual eyes were opened when their guest broke the bread, blessed it and gave it to them. They now recognized Jesus in the flesh.
More importantly, they realized how their hearts had burned within them as the Scriptures were opened up to them on their walk. They now understood spiritually what the mind could not comprehend in the natural. (Luke 24: 13 - 33)
Jesus Himself is the Word of God. (John 1: 1) Those who do not want to believe that Jesus, the Son of God, was crucified and rose again, consider the Word foolish. If you are saved, then you know that it is the power of God.
"For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." "God made foolish the wisdom of this world." (1 Cor. 1: 18 - 20)
Christ is both the Power and the Wisdom of God. God takes the foolish and weak things of the world to confuse the wise and mighty. He takes the sick, undesirable, poor and weak, and totally transforms them so that nothing in this world can take the credit. (1 Cor. 1: 24; 27 - 29)
"But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us Wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." (1 Cor. 1: 30 - 31)
To share the Gospel, you do not need to have the latest and greatest marketing tools. You don't have to know the do's and don'ts of what makes people want to buy your product. The apostle Paul says that he was not an excellent speaker nor had any special kind of wisdom. In fact, he confesses that at the outset he was fearful and weak. He didn't know quite what to say or how to say it.
All Paul had was his testimony of how the Lord came to him and totally transformed his life from being His persecutor to becoming a great apostle. He did not use enticing words to stir up the people. When he spoke, the Power of God's Word brought about His anointing, which transformed and healed many. (1 Cor. 2: 1 - 4)
The Power of the Word of God brings about faith and salvation as it convicts mankind of sin. However, the mysteries of God's Wisdom are hidden and are revealed only to those who are saved.
Jesus would speak in parables to the crowds. But, to those who accepted the Word, his disciples, He would explain the mysteries. The spiritual can only be explained by the Spiritual.
Once you're saved, you have the Holy Spirit of God residing in you. He will reveal everything that God has already freely given to you. (1 Cor. 2: 11)
"Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."
"For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ." (1 Cor. 2: 9 - 10; 16)
