“And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.” Mark 15: 20 KJV

Many times in our lives we feel like nobody cares and that we are all alone. If we have Jesus in our hearts, we are never alone. When Jesus was led to be crucified on that horrible, tragic day, He was totally alone even though He was in the midst of people. Even God had to turn away from Him because God is Holy and He can’t look on sin. Our Blessed Saviour was taking all of our rotten stinking sins on Him.

I’ve often wondered why God didn’t have Jesus crucified as soon as He was grown. I think the reason is because if Jesus had not gone through everything that we face in this life, He wouldn’t have been able to feel our pain like He does. Yes, He understands because He is equal to God, but in His Humanity, He felt what we feel.

There is nobody living, has ever lived, or will ever live, that will know the depths of sorrow and heartache that Jesus knew. Jesus was completely alone. He had no friends to turn to in His Hour of Need. He did ask them to watch and pray with Him in the Garden, but they fell asleep. They did not love Jesus or they could not have fallen asleep.

It is very painful for me to think about my Best Friend, Jesus dying for me. When I think about the way they spit on Him, mocked Him, ridiculed Him, and tortured Him for me, tears roll down my cheeks at the Love of my Saviour for me. He died for you. What have you done for Him today?
