Yesterday while walking back to my trailer from the mailbox, the maintenance man stopped me and asked me if I had walked behind the trailer and saw how he had cut the grass and made it look nice. All of us need to be encouraged.
Several years ago during the week of Christmas, I called the operator and when she asked me what number I wanted, I told her that I was just calling to wish her Merry Christmas. Her voice got choked up and she said that she had been an operator for over thirty years and this was the first time anyone had ever called just to say Merry Christmas.
How sad, dear people, that we are so blind to the needs of other’s hearts. We want people to say kind things to us and many times get offended and hurt if people don’t recognize something we have accomplished, yet we neglect to encourage the same people.
If we would only take our eyes off ourselves and our problems and focus on the needs of our families and friends, we would not only make them feel they are loved and accepted, we would make the Heart of our Saviour to rejoice.
The encouraging words you say can stop someone from taking his or her life. Remember when you are saying kind things and encouraging your families and friends, you are encouraging the Heart of Jesus.
