There is a special joy and excitement when we are in the presence of Jesus. I love my sister, brother-in-law, and my cousin with all of my heart. I have many friends that I dearly love. I have one special person in my life that is embedded in my heart. As much as I love them, they are not able to fill me with joy like being in the presence of Jesus does.
Sometimes I get so excited when I realize that the Great I Am, the Saviour of the world loves me, that I start shouting with happiness and excitement. There is no friend like Jesus! He is the best friend that you could ever have. He never leaves us, not even for one second. We sometimes leave Him, but He doesn’t shut the door on us. He opens the door and His arms wider and waits for us to come Home to Him.
All the world has to offer us doesn’t hold a candle compared to the joy to be found in the presence of Jesus. We do not have to wait until we get to Heaven to be happy. I am so happy right now that I honestly can’t imagine being any happier. Even in the midst of heartache, struggles, and sorrows, my heart rejoices because Jesus loves me.
O’ friends, if you want to experience joy in your hearts on a daily basis, become the friend of Jesus. He is your friend; are you His friend? A friendship is like a marriage in that it must be watered and nurtured on a daily basis. You don’t have to pray every second of the day to be in His presence. If you will allow Him to love through you, you will experience a joy and excitement that nobody or nothing can give you.
