Everything You Need To Be Happy Is Within You

by

Luis Gregory

“To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existence”-Sydney Smith

Money won’t make you happy. I don’t care it you have a billion dollars, or maintain 10 mansions across the globe, or wear diamonds the size of ping-pong balls or own 16 multimillion corporations.

These things won’t make you happy. Here’s my principle. Money will make you happy only if you have learned how to be happy without money! If someone is miserable and says,” If I had enough money, then I’d be happy,” I’d bet my life this person would continue to be miserable no matter how rich he got.

Best-selling author John Gray said, “Money is like a magnifying glass. “ I agree. If you’re truly happy, money magnifies this feeling. It enlarges it. If you’re miserable, money will make you even more miserable.

It’s the same thing with marriage, or with a job, or with a house or with kids….A single person who is miserable and says, “If only I’d meet my perfect march and get married, then I’d be happy,” is in a big surprise. He’ll be one very miserable married person. And worse, he or she will make someone else as miserable as he or she is! Because the fact is obvious: Happy people make happy marriages.

This truth works with everything else, including money. You have to learn the secrets of true happiness before money comes, so that it does come, you’ll know how to handle it and become happier. Learn to be happy without money.

At the end of the day, there’s only one thing that can make you happy. It’s called love. A cliché? So what? It’s the truth! Because you were born with love. You’re designed for it. Every cell of your body, every part of your soul is created for love. I’m shouting it from the rooftops: Only love can make you truly happy!

Surround yourself with love. And practice it daily! People in their deathbeds never say “I wish I had bought a Ferrari, “or “wish I had spent more time in my office….” Listen to people in their dying hour and you’ll hear the same regret: “ I wish I had spent more time loving…”

I believe that relationships are the most important things in our lives-more important than all the wealth in the world. By the way, how many of you have tried to quench your thirst with saltwater? Don’t bother trying. It does not work. The only thing that saltwater does is make you thirstier.

Money is like saltwater. No amount of money will quench your inner thirst for love and happiness. It’ll only make you quench your inner thirst for love and happiness. It’ll only make you thirstier. You want more and more and more until you drop dead from spiritual malnutrition.

Learn to love every day! Let this be your highest ambition in life: to be a great lover! So when the money comes, you’ll make money a servant of love.

Everything you need to be happy is within you.
