How to Accept Jesus Christ As Your Savior

I believe that the Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are at work in the world and in My Life. I have accepted Him as my Savior and have asked Him into my heart.

Yes, I still sin. With a repentant heart I ask forgiveness and Jesus forgives. I learn and continue to live for Him in the best way I can.

Anyone can believe that Jesus existed. Please do not confuse this. In James 2:19 we read, "You believe that God is one; you do well. The demons also believe--and they shudder." HCSB

The King James Version reads, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

The devil and his demons believe in Jesus Christ but not as their Savior; They have not accepted Him into their hearts to live for Him.

The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." and in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

We sin and this separates us from God. We try to reach God on our own and this results in failure.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12

"But your iniquities (sins) have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear." Isaiah 59:2

How can we reach God. We can't but God reached down over two thousand years ago when Jesus died on a cross for our sins.

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:5

"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." 1 Peter 3:18

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

God provided the only way for us to reach Him, His Son Jesus Christ.

Each person must make a choice.

We must trust Jesus Christ has our Lord and Savior and receive Him into our hearts and lives.

Revelation 3:20 "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Are you willing to open the door?

"Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12

Romans 10:9 tells us we must confess, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Are you ready, do you feel Jesus knocking at the door to your heart?

Here is how you can receive Christ as your Savior.

1. Admit that you have a need; that you are a sinner.

2. Be willing to turn from your sins (repent).

3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.

4. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive Him as Lord and Savior.)

This prayer might go like this:

Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior.

In Jesus name. Amen.

If you sincerely prayed this prayer (not just read it) the Bible says in Romans 10:13; "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

If you did ask Jesus Christ into your life where is He right Now? What has He given you?

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God--not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

In 1 John 5: 12-13 we read, "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."

If you received Christ, you are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. This is call regeneration, or the "new birth."

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior there are several things you can do to grow in Him.

Read your Bible daily so you will know Him better.

Talk to God in prayer every day.

Tell others about Christ.

Worship, fellowship, and server with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached. This should be a Church where the Holy Scriptures are preached.

As Christ's representative in a need word, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.

I pray this has helped you know a little more about Jesus Christ.

You may find a tract, "Steps to Peace with God," published by World Wide Publications which is a Ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association helpful to you.
