Pseudo Intellectualism - Shifting the Blame to Cover the Shame
It is abundantly apparent that if you choose to believe in God, especially the God of the Bible, you must be anti-science.
In fact, most honest people only want both faith and science people to prove their assertions and beliefs. Neither should be allowed to present their conclusions without some reasonable answer from history, archeology, and some solid eyewitness testimony.
If science sticks to the parameters of its own definition we are good. The definition of science is the recovery of data from repeatable, observable and controlled phenomena. If you tell me what happened 50 billion years ago - that is not science. It is speculation and a mere prior philosophic postulation.
An example is this. About 2000 years ago many people, 500 at one time, saw the resurrected Christ appearing and visiting with people over a 40 day period. Contrarily, not one person has come forth that witnessed the big bang or any subsequent stages of evolutionary progress in any species.
Reams of evidence that seriously question the dating process of rocks and fossils along with the blaring omissions of credible transitionary inter-species examples is making the "everything from nothing" crowd look a little bit indoctrinated.
Next, we have Gene Roddenberry helping the intellectuals to overcome Einstein's relativity limitations with imaginary slip-streams, wormholes and anomalies. It's a world of fantasy that refuses to admit, that man is not going very far beyond this solar system at even the speed of light, much less at nine times the speed of light.
These are the well deduced premises, positions and postulations of today's intellectuals. Now, they have earned the right to blame the Bible, the Christians and anyone at all that continues to refer to God as creator, as the crowd that hinders the mighty surge of intellectual power and technology. They blame the believers for keeping the world dumbed down with superstition.
But the bible doesn't just say that God created everything, it also declares that man labors under a dark cloud of deception the world over. (2 Corinthians 4:4) The god of this world (Satan) has so thoroughly deceived this generation that the term "intellectual" has been reduced to pure nonsense.
If you are deceived about how the worlds came about and how all things finally end up - you are not an intellectual. You are a puppet of the "father of lies" (John 8:44) and this is about the saddest state into which any man can fall.
Real wisdom, and anything that can remotely be referred to as "intellectual' - starts at the heart; not in the halls of academia.
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10)
The word and the "knowledge of the holy" come with an iron-clad guarantee, a full promise that no one who trusts his word will be ashamed.
"For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels." (Luke 9:26)
There is no promise for those who trust the meanderings of men whether they are called scientists, philosophers or by any other name.
What God gave us
God gave us the ancient word in the Old Testament. He then provided the "Living Word" in the form of his son. Then he provides his "final word" in the last day's prophecies.
The final word does have an ominous promise connected to it - in fact, it is it's finality that is the promise.
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." (John 5:28-29)
It may not seem very intellectual to believe this promise, but not believing it will be labeled the dumbest thing anyone ever did in the days to come.
"Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil." - C. S. Lewis
