Sad News About Armour - Is it Effective?
Forrest Labs, maker of Armour Thyroid, changed their formulation process.
Negative reactions by patients about the 'new" Armour are streaming in from far and wide.
Patients who take Armour sublinguially say instead of dissolving, Armour now leaves a nasty kind of paste in their mouth.
Is Armour still effective?
Others wonder if it's as effective as it used to be.
One report said the pills are pressed with such intensity that they don't dissolve, so don't provide medication to your body. They just appear in the patient's stool.
I spoke by phone with Charles Hakala of Hakala Research (http://HakalaLabs.com) today. Hakala Research creates and sells a few selected supplements for better health, emphasizing magnesium and inorganic (safe) iodine. They also offer tests for iodine deficiency.
Actually, our conversation was about other things, but we drifted to the topic of the new Armour. Hakala says the reason we've been noticing a difference in Armour is that Forrest changed from a freeze-dry process to a high-heat, spray process, which seems to have reduced the potency.
And all dessicated thyroid, whatever the label, comes from Armour.
It appears Forrest Labs has gone over to the dark side. Bought by another company, they now seem to view profit as more important than patient health. Or maybe they're caving in to Big Pharma, so they can be like the big boys, too.
Another sad story from the sad world of medicine.
God is good,
